WIP - "Vehicle"

(Click on the images for a larger, better version)

Hi! I don't really update that much, because I am busy trying to learn new techniques and experimenting with some ideas. Today I am trying to create a vehicle from a blueprint. If you are interested in knowing which blueprint I am using, then click at the link below.

I made a tutorial for who is interested in knowing how to set up a Blueprint in 3Ds Max. The video is in portuguese.

Thank you for the interest!

"L'Oreal Paris" - Remaked

L'Oreal Paris

Another image. Remember the post I made with the L'Oreal Paris Cosmetic? Well, I redid it. I have more techniques now, and I am more experienced with 3Ds Max. I would like to, basically, name some examples of what the evolution was: Well, for a start, for the first version, I used only 3Ds Max. Now I had some help for some unique effects in After Effects. The blur in the image was activated on my camera view, with the function "multi-pass" and I chose the option "Depth of Field", and when you click on preview in 3Ds Max, you can see an example of the blur, and it can then be adjusted.
Also, when I did the first image, I didn't really know how to texturize the image. I had a lot of problems with that, but it went on pretty smooth this time.

In total, I spent about 2 hours and 40 Minutes
Sculpturing: 1 hour
Illumination: 30 Minutes
Texture: 30 Minutes
Final Touches: 40 Minutes

Project - "Aspalt Explosion"

This is a project I've already worked on for a while. I actually already finished is a while ago, but just recently took it up again, to apply and experiment with some new techniques that I am studying: Smoke and Explosions.
I created everything from scrap, the explosion, the road, the lights and so on. But the sound of the explosion and the burning fire was downloaded for free on this site.
Underneath is a WIP image of the final touches in After Effect:

(Click on the image for a larger, better version)

Programs I used:
3Ds Max 2010 (with the plugin FumeFX), and After Effects (with the plugin Optical Flares)

I spent about 4 and a half hours total on this whole project:
Sculpturing: 15 Minutes
Texturing: About 1 hour
Creating the fire and smoke in 3Ds max: 40 Minutes
Creating the animation: 40 Minutes
Sounds: 30 Minutes
Final Touches: (such as Color Correction, Motion Blur, Flash Fuse, Layers, Lens Flares)
1 and a half hours

And the final result:

Realistic Text in Real Environment

Here is another image that I was working on.
This is just a picture, but it is possible to make a video clip, with the method that I use. What I mean is, I could make the fire and smoke move, like in a movie. I will see if I can do that and post the video here some other time.

(Click on the images for a larger, better version)

I posted a image of the work in progress too, I always like to have WIP images of my work. (The WIP image is a screen shot of my work in Photoshop CS4)
I textured the wall and added the text to the wall using layers and vector masks.
I also added some modifiers on the text (screen and linear dodge).
The smoke was made in 3Ds Max with the plugin FumeFX. I also added a light effect in the image to show that the fire shines on the background, making the image more realistic.
I also added the .pds file for you to analyze the whole thing, if you are interested.
(Click HERE to download the .pds file)
I am open to critics and suggestions, so you are welcome to comment.

Programs I used:
Photoshop CS4, 3Ds Max (using the plugin FumeFX)

I spent about 2 hours on this.

Thank you for the interest,

Contest Entry - "Freddie Wong in Action"

I am entering this contest on Freddiew's page, and figured I'd post my WIP and final images for you to see.

The video clip of the fire that you can see below, is a sample of a fire ball I created, so I could use original fire in the images I would enter. This comes in forms as shooting, explosions, smoke and more. It is very good to be able to make this yourself, so you have control over the shape and intensity of the fire.

The images are just to show my progress in this project. I made the youtube logo myself, in 3Ds Max (all copyright of the brand, however, belongs to youtube) and the Fire was created in 3Ds Max too, with the Plugin FumeFX, also the color variations of the original images, and the composition all together.

I used these programs:
After Effect, 3Ds Max 2010, Photoshop CS4.

I spent about 4 hours on this. (2 hours in each image, note that the third image was only color modified, this only takes about 10 minutes or less)

Project - "Reverse Break Building"

Reverse Break Building.
The idea for creating this 38 seconds video of a building being hit, breaking, and the going into a reverse break was basically this: I was working with something in 3Ds Max, and I was experimenting with the reactor. The function of the reactor is simple: Action and reaction. It's a basic element in our every days life. And I was inspired by that.

Programs I used:
I sculptured the building, and created the animation in 3Ds Max,
and composed and added the final touches (such as light effects and sounds) of the video in After Effects.

I spent about 6 hours and a half on this project.
Sculpturing: 4 hours
Animation: 30 minutes
Sounds: 30 minutes
Final Touches: 1 hour and a half

Project - "L'OREAL PARIS"

(Brand 100% Copyright to L'oreal Paris)

Inspiration: This is a challenge for myself, to see if I would succeed at creating a image similar to a commercial.

I am putting a lot of effort into making this logo on the glass. It's difficult because the task is to leave the glass transparent, and the logo not, but still with a reflex of the round shape of the glass. I think it would be easier if I was trying to do this with white plastic.

I feel that I won't work more on this, but figured I'd post it anyway.

Programs I used for this:
Photoshop CS4, 3Ds Max 2010.

I spent about 1 hour on this. (30 minutes sculpturing, 15 minutes texturing)

Thanks for the interest.

Fanart - "Supepop"

This is a fanart I made for my cousin (the one on the image).

(Click on image for larger version)

Here is what I modified:
There was not a bird in the picture, I found the image of this bird online, and there was no logo either. (I made that logo myself, there was no legal images of it online) The fire in the background was created in Photoshop CS4, and so was the reflexes of the fire on his skin. And also, my cousin was not actually there, at the show, I photo-manipulated him in there.

So for this fanart, I used Photoshop CS4 alone.

I spent about 1 hour on this image.

Thanks for your interest.
